Laura: It's been very very busy, but just in the past few weeks, we've gone from one or two catches a week to too many a day to count. She's actively signing, again in the past week, or at least I'm finally noticing. No poop catches, though. In time...
David: In the meantime, in the past few months, he's gone from knowing what he is doing and doing what and where he feels like it to never having accidents unless sick or overtired. He's easily entertained by eliminating in unusual ways -- watering the grass, standing in a silly position over a potty chair, etc. |

Laura's stool has been weird. For a few days we had butterscotch pudding, then a few days of nothing. This morning was a very forceful explosion w/ a soft but formed piece in the center of liquid. I wish I knew what was going on! |

You know, you have to love that maternal intuition. Even when you're not on the ball with EC, and I confess to being really slack, it's still there. This morning, I thought "Oh, Laura must have pooped!" but when I checked her diaper, it was clean, so I knew it was time to potty her. I sat in my chair, half awake, looking arond the room for the potty chair. Suddenly she started to poop so I automatically cupped my hand under her butt to catch the worst of it. Which I did, though it spattered hither and yon, getting my lap, the floor and the chair between my legs. I just have to work on having the potty easily accessible! But that totally would have been a poop catch if my toddler didn't keep moving the darn potties around the house on me. |

Oh, life is frustrating at times. He's got total bladder and bowel control but often just doesn't care. But three steps forward, two back is still one net gain, right? Today he ran in and told me he'd pooped, so I went and checked... and he'd taken himself to the potty and pooped there. GOOD JOB!
In the meantime, Laura's been a slow process, due to the stress going on ... but I try to offer at least once a day and change her as soon as she urinates. Last night, she woke up and asked me to take her at 4AM. I'd be a lot more thrilled if she went to sleep afterwards, though.

I tried to take Laura to the potty for an after nap pee. SHe wasn't fussy, but instead, once I put her on the potty, she fell back asleep. It was very cute.

WOOHOOO!!!! Day 15 and I had my first poop catch! It wasn't just timing, either. She was naked and fussy and I could just TELL. Not bad, considering how few times I've tried so far. Actually, I've caught almost every time I've tried, which is quite entertaining. I'd forgotten how much fun EC is. I didn't haven early this much fun with David, though. I was really stressed out about being caught and feeling silly and not being really sure it would work.
I've ordered a potty bowl for Laura and a wee man for David. I'm very excited about both. :)

Sorry for not updating sooner, but life's been hectic. I gave birth to Laura Rose on 1/18. We've had several pee catches this week though we're starting off slowly. It's all good. I'll make a new icon soon, when I get to it.

Eva still wet the bed, so she sleeps in pullups. It's not a big deal. Raffi and David don't sleep in pullups, as they rarely wet the bed unless sick.
Tonight, Eva and I were sleeping on the couch. I guess her pullup leaked, so she got the whole back of my pajama bottoms wet, then moved over to a dry spot and stayed asleep. As there were no dry spots for me to do the same, I took off the pajama bottoms (I still had a nightgown on) and went upstairs. I lay down in the crowded king bed with Gary and the boys. David got up, moved over next to me, went back to sleep, and then urinated all over the front of my nightgown, leaving me no dry spot in that bed, either. *wail*

I was moping and whining to my husband about wanting new footies from Woollybottoms tonight, but since I was busy taking care of a sick toddler, I was unable to try to purchase any this week. I asked him if it would be possible to automate something for me so I wouldn't have to waste my time sitting at the computer instead of doing important things like taking care of kids or sleeping. After some discussion, he suggested that I might want to make it publically available.
He sent me a letter to share with the diaper groups with information but he left out some pieces that I agreed to add to my note. I'll add those at the end after the letter.

I will be testing out sniping for Hyena shopping carts written for my wife. In order to test you will need to provide your hyena shop userid and password, and if paying by paypal the userid and password for the paypal account(I am investigating how to do the Credit Card processing). For each store and each item, up to 3 people may register to snipe it - you must provide the time you wish your snipe to be submitted, and when that time arrives the system will try to purchase the item for you(processing goes in order of the time you request the bid to be completed, and then first come first served. We will allow for 3 per item in the event that the earlier process is not completed successfully for whatever reason)
During the Alpha testing. to pay for server processing and such, a $1.50 fee will be charged for each /successfully/ sniped product - so if you don't get your item, you don't pay anything.
Pricing is subject to change after Alpha testing completes, however all alpha testers who have successfully used the service may continue to pay their alpha test rate in the event that pricing goes up.
If interested in participating in the Alpha test, please email snipe@cafeap.com and you will be contacted when the service is available. Please specify if you prefer paying for your products using your paypal account or credit card so I can gauge the demand for credit card payments(I plan on using Paypal and don't particularly care about credit cards, but if enough people do I will check to see if that can be done as well)

OK, here are the bits he forgot to put into the letter.
1. Hyena and paypal info will be encrypted safely.
2. In addition to the other information he requested in the email, please include url of which hyena stores you are interested in sniping.
3. There will be a deadline for people to be signing up for alpha testing, but I don't know yet when it will be, so if you're interested, signing up sooner is better.
Thanks for all the feedback and feel free to forward this to appropriate places. I'd like to get this up and running soon!

| » David has a new game... or whatever you wanna call it... |
He declares that he has to use the toilet, we rush off to the bathroom but he gets there first (I have a back injury and move slowly) so he urinates (or more!) OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM DOOR. Then he cackles madly.
*headdesk*
We were out on errands all day yesterday and he was dry until we got home and wet himself while waiting for me to walk to the bathroom. I KNOW he could have waited!!!!

Why do I bother? Gary's sticking him in pullups and insisting that if he doesn't, David will pee on him. Dammit, if you put him in pullups, he will USE THE PULLUPS!!! Just lose the diapers, stay consistant and we won't need them anymore!

I feel like a moron. David is sick, so he woke up in the middle of the night crying and coughing. When Gary got up and went downstaiirs, David started crying for him. I tried to reassure him that daddy would be back, but a moment later, I realized that he hadn't wanted Gary to come back at all... he wanted to go downstairs too! Of course, I discovered this when he had an accident on my bed. OOPS!!!! Silly clueless mama... but it's the first accident at night that he's had in months, and sick, and mostly my fault. He's doing really well.

Why is it that I can take David out for hours and he'll be dry but with Gary he soaks himself? Gary often puts him in a diaper and he doesn't dven ASK to go to the bathroom, even when it's totally saturated. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
